Warzone 2.0: how much it takes up, when you can play it and what happens to the original Warzone

Is the time? The first season of Modern Warfare II officially starts on November 16, and among many of its novelties, the most important is the arrival of Warzone 2.0 and the new DMZ mode.
Warzone 2 will launch on current and next-gen consoles and Battle.net and Steam for PC. Following in the footsteps of Modern Warfare 2, Warzone 2 will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC, but unlike the last game, it will be free under the free-to-play model.
All the game content will be free for everyone (PS+ is not necessary either), although users can buy the BattlePass or Skins in the store.
Although there are still a couple of days left, the preload of Warzone 2.0 and its related download is imminent; it is ideal to start playing when its servers open.
How much does the Warzone 2.0 download take up?
Unlike the previous game, Infinity Ward suggests that the game and its consequent updates will be more minor, which does not mean that in this first great download, you will have to arm yourself with patience.
Although there is still no official data, on November 10, Warzone 2 Report r on Twitter leaked the potential size of the game on PC. According to them, the game weighs 115.62 GB in its version to download on a PC. Everything indicates that it will be similar on consoles, although it may be smaller due to texture streaming or the compressed file system.
Likewise, Aggiornamenti Lumia, a Twitter account well known for its leaks, also confirms that according to data from the Xbox Store, Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 occupies 115.62 GB on the Microsoft console. On PlayStation, the data will be similar.
When will you be able to download Warzone 2.0?
Having cleared the download size, it’s time to get used to when you can download it. Although the game will not be available until November 16, all regions will open the preload today. You can download the game up to two days before, although the game mode will not be available until the official launch. These are the dates:
- Warzone 2.0 Download: November 14 at 10 am PT, around 7:00 pm. Spain time and noon Mexico City time.
- Opening the Warzone 2.0 servers: November 16 at 10 am PT, around 7:00 pm in Spain, and noon in Mexico City.
What will happen to the original Warzone?
Activision has confirmed that Warzone (the original) will still exist, but get ready because the original will be the same from the launch of Warzone 2.0. You can generally play until November 16, yes. As of that date, you will need to have the following:
- On November 16, the Call of Duty: Warzone servers will temporarily go offline to end Season Five of Call of Duty: Vanguard.
- At around 7:00 pm ET, Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 will launch as part of Modern Warfare II Season 01 and will be the only game mode available.
- On November 28, the first Warzone will be relaunched under Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera as a standalone experience, but the Rebirth Island and Fortune’s Keep maps will not be there. Only Caldera will be playable. And none of the previously purchased content will carry over to Warzone 2.0 except COD Points, which are also tied to the platform they were earned on; Nothing to transfer from PS4 to PC, for example, but from PS4 to PS5.
Double XP Tokens will also not be transferable between Warzone Caldera and Warzone 2.0. However, those who have played Call of Duty: Warzone will receive some items to use in Warzone 2.0 as a reward.
