The Google Pixel roadmap until 2025 is filtered: this is all they will present

A look at Google's roadmap for its Pixel phones and the models that the company will announce over the next few years.

Google Pixel 7Google, which 2022 has experienced growth in the sale of its smartphones, already has the roadmap ready regarding its launch strategy for its Google Pixel from 2023 to 2025. A recent leak through Android Authority has allowed us to know in detail which models will arrive next year and the company’s plans regarding some of its most anticipated ranges and models, such as the Pixel A series or the folding Pixel.

One of the details revealed by the roadmap leaked by the medium above is the launches Google will carry out in 2023. The company could present two new mobiles during the I/O of 2023, its annual conference for developers. On the one hand, a model whose code name is “lynx” which is related to the Google Pixel 7a. The source has not detailed this model’s characteristics but states it will go on sale for the same price as the current Pixel 6a. That is, in Spain, for 459 euros.

The second smartphone, with the code “Felix,” would be the Pixel Foldthe company’s first foldable. It is, in fact, a fact that we already knew, thanks to previous rumors. The roadmap offers more detail regarding a release date and confirms what we have been waiting for a long time: a foldable Pixel. It is expected to be priced at $1,799.

These, of course, will not be the only smartphones that will arrive in 2023. Google will also announce the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro at the end of the year. No significant changes are expected in this case, although Android Authority says that the Pixel 8 will have a smaller screen and, therefore, a smaller size than the current Pixel 7.

2024: a possible change in strategy conditioned by the sales of the Google Pixel

Google Pixel 7

2024 could be an essential year for Google’s mobile business. In part due to the new system that the company could follow depending on the sale of its different ranges, specifically the Pixel 7a.

And it is that Google could decide to launch the Google Pixel 8a, initially scheduled for 2024 and whose price would be $499, depending on the reception of the economic model they will announce in 2023. If the sales of this do not meet the company’s expectations, This will modify the launch schedule of the Pixel A, which would become biennial. The Pixel 8a, in this way, could be relocated to 2025.

Google, however, would increase the catalog of high-end smartphones with up to three models, one more than in recent years.

Google Pixel 6a

In 2024, therefore, we could see a Pixel 9 with the same size and screen as the Pixel 8—also a Pixel 9 Pro, with a 6.7-inch screen. The third model would be a variant of the 9 Pro with a smaller panel, around 6.3 inches, but with precise dimensions.

That is, Google could follow a similar strategy to what Apple does with its iPhone. The Pixel 9, for example, would be Google’s iPhone 14, while the 6.3-inch and 6.7-inch Pixel 9 Pro would be equivalent to the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max.

In 2024 we could also see a second variant of Google’s foldable mobile, probably with improved specifications. The launch, however, is conditioned to the reception of the first folding, as will happen with the Pixel A series.

Google Pixel 7 Pro

2025 will also be an exciting year for the Google Pixel. The firm, in particular, could launch a “clamshell” folding Pixel to compete against the Galaxy Z Flip and similar smartphones. However, it is not something that has already been fully decided. Google has an ace up its sleeve if, for whatever reason, they don’t end up launching this model: announce up to four high-end Pixel phones.

In 2025 the Mountain View company should launch the Pixel 10, which could come in three different versions of the “clamshell” foldable. We would have a new folding with another format than the Pixel Fold, a Pixel 10, and two Pixel 10 Pro of 6.7 and 6.3 inches. However, if Google does not decide to launch the foldable that will face Samsung’s Z Flip, the firm will add a fourth Pixel 10 model with a larger screen size compared to the base model but with the exact specifications.

Up to four Google Pixel 10

Therefore, and if the folding -let’s call it Pixel Flip-is not launched, in a few years, we could see two Pixel 10 sizes of 6.7 and 6.3 inches; and two Pixel 10 Pro with 6.7 and 6.3 inches. This way, Google would also align itself with Apple’s mobile catalog. The Cupertino company, remember, has two base models with 6.1 and 6.7-inch screens (the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus) and two more powerful versions with the exact dimensions (the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max.

In any case, we must bear in mind that the roadmap could undergo significant modifications over the coming months. Above all, Google planned the one for 2024 and 2025. However, it is interesting to see the brand’s plans regarding the launch of its mobiles.
