The Samsung Galaxy S23 would arrive in February and without an Exynos chip

The new Samsung Galaxy S23 would have a presentation date, although without major surprises. The main novelty would be that the entire lineup of mobile phones would use Snapdragon chips.

Samsung Galaxy S22Rumors around the Galaxy S23 have not been long in coming, and Samsung’s next flagship would already have a presentation date. According to 9to5Google, a new leak indicates that the new mobile from the South Korean brand will be presented at the beginning of next February. Although it is not said what day, it would be during the first week of the month. So far, nothing too new, considering that it is the time of year the company usually does it. The striking fact is that the Asians would organize a face-to-face event for the launch for the first time in three years.

Although the information does not abound in detail, Samsung would show the Galaxy S23 in San Francisco, California. If it materializes, it would be the return to normality after all the product presentations of 2021 and 2022 were carried out virtually. It is true that with the launch of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4, promotional and press activities were carried out in New York and London, but the revelation of the devices was made in pre-recorded presentations.

Beyond this, the other rumor of the Galaxy S23 again brings a recurring theme in the latest Samsung releases: the possibility of abandoning the Exynos chips. The Koreans have indeed suffered horrors with the performance of their latest SoCs, but before the Galaxy S22 was announced, the same thing was said, which was not valid. But the difference in performance registered this year between its high-end mobiles with its chips and the variants with Snapdragon processors could be the last straw.

On this occasion, this possibility seems to have been endorsed by Qualcomm. In the presentation of its latest quarterly results, the chipper indicated that, unlike previous years, it would not provide the chips for 75% of the Galaxy S23 produced but would increase its presence to “a global quota.” Thus, the new generation of high-end mobile phones from Samsung would be launched only with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

Samsung would play all its chips for Qualcomm chips for the Galaxy S23

If Samsung goes with Snapdragon chips for the Galaxy S23, it could close the door on the MediaTek option. Rumors arose months ago that the Asian firm was considering adopting the Dimensity 8100 and Dimensity 9000 instead of its own Exynos.

The high efficiency and the more significant jump in performance experienced by these SoCs would have been of interest to the Koreans. Especially when compared to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. We’ll never know how far this possibility has been considered anyway. Or if there are real chances of seeing them share the lineup with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

Qualcomm’s statements suggest that Samsung will bring its chips to all markets where the Galaxy S23 will be sold. However, we will have to wait until we know the technical specifications of this new family of mobiles.

In terms of appearance, there are no big surprisesAt the end of September, the complete design of the phone came to light, and a few days later, it was ratified with the leak of a cover.
